Taspinar is a town in the municipality Aksaray in central Anatolia. In the 13 th century the Arabian traveler named Ibn-i Batuta talked about the beauty of the rugs in the Aksaray region. All the materials used in these rugs are pure wool.

The primary colors are red, brick, navy blue and blue, with secondary colors of white, cream, green, and gray. The predominant

designs of the traditional Taspinar rugs are stylized plant motifs. A long the borders geometrical flowers and leaves can be seen. Most of the compositions are in the form of a medallion and the others portray a prayer niche with the picture of the eternal lamp. The prayer niche symbolizes the center of Islam, which is Mecca, and the symbolizes the holy light. The sizes that can be found are : 120*180, 140*250, 200*300, 250*350 centimeters.

MATERIAL: Warp, weft, and pile are pure wool.
